My son won't allow us to brush his teeth. He has 8 of them and refuses to have a toothbrush anywhere near his mouth. How important is it to brush them at the moment and have you any helpful hints!

A Teeth brushing at 13 months is more about getting your son used to the brush rather than fighting decay, so keep it fun and avoid battles.

Many parents find it easier to encourage tooth brushing during bath time or letting your son watch you and then he can copy you.

You could try a new toothbrush, let your son choose one and try a less mint flavoured paste as that often can be too strong.
