At what age can I stop sterilising her feeding equipment? I’ve read in lots of parenting books that it’s about six months and also it says the same on both Cow & Gate and SMA nutrition web sites but I just need to be sure?

A The advice we usually give is to sterilise all baby’s feeding equipment until he/she is six months old and to carry on sterilising the milk feeding equipment for a year. The reason for this is that warm milk is a breeding ground for harmful germs so it is essential to sterilise milk feeding equipment to minimise the risk.
