I am wondering when do I start my one year old son on a beaker? I have tried but he is not a bit interested and I know bottles can do stuff to his teeth. Can you advise?

A
Thank you for your question. Your can start him on a cup now. Your baby is capable of holding a cup in both hands and drinking from it. When introducing the cup it is best to do it gradually by offering it to him with a small amount of liquid in it. The trick is to be positive, happy and smiling and praise him even if he touches it and when he attempts to drink from it. There are many cups on the market to choose from but some parents find that the Doidy Cup is a good one to use because it is designed to make drinking from a cup easier. Keep trying every day at the same time and he will soon be happy to drink from a cup. It may take a week or two and you will have to continue with the bottles for a little longer until he is able to drink a sufficient quantity of milk from his cup.
