My eighteen-month-old daughter always had a nap for two hours in the afternoon but lately she is refusing her nap. The problem is that she is grumpy all day. Have you got any ideas that might help?

A It sounds like she still needs her nap and you will have to persuade her by persisting with the regular nap time routine which should be similar to the night time routine. Prepare for the nap with a quiet time, a story or some music and a cuddle. Watch her for signs of tiredness and start the routine earlier before she is overtired and frustrated and the outcome will be more successful.
