Please could you advise where locally I can have my baby immunised with MMR in separate doses? I cannot get any joy from my GP.

A Thank you for your question. Many parents worry about giving their babies the MMR vaccine because of its alleged association with autism. I am assuming that this is the reason you want to give single vaccines to your baby.

The research that caused all the panic a few years ago has since been discredited and the most recent research has reassured us that the triple vaccine is safe. Health Visitors have been issued with folders of information that they can share with parents who still have concerns so I think it would be a good idea to have a look at this first before you make your final decision.

Another area worth considering is that the vaccines being given privately are unlicensed. This means that they have not been tested on their safety and efficacy for use in the NHS in Britain.

Of course the final decision is yours and should you choose to give single vaccines a list of Doctors throughout the country who carry out this service can be found on www.jabs.org.uk/. You also might find it helpful to look at
