My twenty two month old son who used to eat everything has recently become very fussy about food and has started to refuse to eat any foods that touch on his plate. What can I do?

A This type of behaviour in your toddler is common. It is his way of trying to control. If he enjoys eating the food try to ignore his behaviour by telling him that he does not have to eat it but not offering him a different food. You could suggest that he eats the bits that are not touching. Get him involved in putting his food on his plate and praise him for helping and for eating all the food.
It is best not to make a fuss but it is important to be firm about what you want and expect to happen at mealtimes.
