We have two children a three year old and an eighteen month old. Our first child loves all the hugs we dole out to her and is ready for a cuddle at any time but the younger one is not like that and is only happy with the occasional hug. Should we be worried about this?

A All children have different temperaments. Some like lots of cuddles and some don’t. These differences are normal and it is best to respect your toddler’s wishes. Sometimes saying that you need the hug can have a successful outcome so you could try that and see what happens. If your toddler never wants a hug or a cuddle and seems distant discuss this with your Doctor.
