I had my baby in July and he had his BCG a few weeks ago. It is red and pus is coming from it is this normal? what should I do.

A It is common following BCG vaccination to have an accumulation of pus, peeling or scaling or sores on the skin at the injection site. It is best to cover the area with a dressing to keep it clean and to use waterproof dressings if you take your baby swimming. It will heal up in time and I suggest that you see your Health Visitor or GP if you continue to be worried or if you feel that the skin is not healing or your child is unwell
