My eighteen month old has started holding his breath. He cried so much today that he turned blue and passed out. Could this be serious? .

The lips turn blue and they pass out. However they recover very quickly and are soon breathing normally. There is no brain damage because it lasts less than
a minute.
No treatment is necessary but it is possible to prevent them.
