I have tried everything and my baby is not unwell but won't stop crying!.

A Please be reassured that this is a very common occurrence you are not on your own. Some babies can seem to cry almost constantly, leaving you feeling incredibly stressed and feeling that you are in some way doing something wrong! If you know that your have done everything for your baby and they are not unwell and have been seen by the GP, the most important thing now is to get some support for yourself.

If you have a partner or other family members - try to get them to share some of the care, so you can get some rest. A crying baby is incredibly tiring and can be stressful, so get help early. Having support will prevent you reaching ‘screaming pitch’ or acting in a way that may harm you or baby. Babies are very delicate and even putting them down too roughly in temper or shaking your baby can cause them serious harm.

Having a new baby is the ultimate responsibility so if you feel that you need a break to gather your thoughts, ask someone to look after your baby and have a break away from them for an hour or so - it will do you the world of good.

Remember to use your health visitor and GP for help and support during this time.
