My daughter is 1. Is now a good time to stop her daytime bottle feeds? She is drinking milk with her breakfast and has plenty of dairy products throughout the day?.
A
Thank you for your question. Now your
daughter is one year old she needs approximately one pint of formula milk per
day alongside a varied diet. These are rough guidelines though and your daughter
will soon let you know if she is having too many or too little feeds. Another
thing to bear is that after age of one your daughter can move from drinking formula
milk to full-fat
cow's milk. The food standards agency recommends the following, to help you
understand which milk can be used at which age range:
Full-fat milk isn't suitable as a drink until your baby is a
year old. This is because it doesn't contain the right balance of nutrients to
meet your baby's needs.
Semi-skimmed milk isn't suitable as a drink for children under
two. But you can introduce it from two years old, if your child is a good eater
and has a varied diet.
Skimmed milk isn't suitable for children under five years old.
