Doidy feeding cup

This is a really easy way to introduce babies to drinking from a cup.
The Doidy Cup, designed and made in the U.K., teaches your children to drink from a rim.
The unique slant of the cup enables children to drink easily as they can see the contents without thrusting their heads forward and downwards. They also learn to put the cups down properly.
Babies as young as 6mths find the two handled cup easy to hold and use but with Mum's help the cup can be used from birth.
Dishwasher (top shelf) and microwave safe. (Warning - micro waving liquids can result in 'hot spots' and is not advised for children's drinks.)

The Doidy cup is an ideal aid to weaning as the natural mouth action used is the same as in breast feeding. Health professionals are advising use of the Doidy Cup to prevent long term health problems caused by delayed weaning and prolonged use of feeding bottles and spouted cups.
Numerous Health Authorities are promoting the use of the Doidy Cup in their 'SURE START' and 'BOTTLE TO CUP' campaigns.

Gro-bags for babies

The most precious thing in a parent’s life is their newborn baby. The second most precious thing in their lives is sleep. Nothing really prepares them for the levels of sleep deprivation that is experienced in the first few weeks of a newborns life. When parents are going through the routine of waking several times a night, not having reached the stage of developing any kind of ‘routine’ they can really feel like it’s never going to end.
One very simple thing that parents can do that is quite inexpensive is to invest in a Grobag.

A Grobag is a baby sleeping bag. The baby or child actually wears this like an item of clothing. It has poppers or zips to fasten it up. It has head and arm holes (no sleeves). They come in a variety of different thickness (Togs) and different sizes.
The baby or child can wiggle and jiggle as much as it likes and the Grobag won’t come off and leave the baby cold and likely to wake up
• The baby and especially the toddler can wake up play, move around and then fall back to sleep without you having to worry that their blankets have fallen off and that they are getting cold
• There is less danger of the baby slipping down under the covers and helps to maintain the recommended sleeping position of ‘feet to foot’.
• The baby/child will begin to associate the Grobag with sleep and this can certainly help settle the baby with more success when sleeping in a strange place or when moving from moses basket to cot to bed
• It makes it much harder for the toddler to attempt climbing out of its cot and is useful if you want to delay the move to a bed.
