By the end of this workshop participants will have had the opportunity
to :
- develop an outline antenatal course adaptable to their specific
needs
- identify the different ways adults learn
- select and use a variety of teaching methods
- identify ways of involving clients in agenda setting, reviewing
and evaluation
- recognise the importance of teaching physical skills for labour
having had practical hands on experience during the course
- select different activities for involving partners in an antenatal
course.

of stress management and to be able to use some of the techniques.

parents
- gain confidence to run the course and evaluate it effectively
- identify and develop teaching strategies that can be used to
attract, sustain and inform a group of young parents
- develop a range of teaching and facilitation skills to make
