try and won’t break the bank. They are great
for getting your kids involved also
FACE PACKS
Face packs are used to clean your
skin and get rid of the old skin cells and the
dirt that gets
stuck to your natural skin oils
and clogs your pores.
If you use too many astringent cleansers on your skin you can
strip too much of your skin oils away and affect the natural Ph
balance. This signals to your skin that more oil is needed and
so it gets even oilier. So you use more cleanser - and so on and
so on.
The thing to remember is that all you need to do is clean
off the pollution and dust that has attached itself
during the day - not strip the skin bare.
Why not try these 2 natural face
packs and feel the difference immediately! (try
and not lick your lips!)
Banana Face Pack - for dry to normal
skin.
-
1 ripe banana
-
1 dessertspoon of runny honey
5 dessertspoon of fine oatmeal (if you only have porridge oats,
put them in a food processor and smash them up a bit, or use
the end of a rolling pin in a cup - just grind them up smaller
and finer)
-
Mix the ingredients up together and spread
on your face - avoiding your eyes.
-
Lie down and relax for about five minutes with
thin slices of cucumber over your eyes.
-
Wash off gently with lukewarm water and a face
flannel - don't rub hard.
Your skin may tingle a little - this is good so don't panic!
It means that the blood supply has been stimulated in the skin
and it will help make your skin healthier. The face flannel
also does something called "exfoliating" your skin.
All that means is that its slightly roughish surface cleans
away the old dead skin cells.
Fruity face packs - for dealing
with an oilier skin
-
Choose a softish fruit that you like, can eat
lots of without getting sick and generally suits you. Chances
are that if it agrees with your insides then your outsides will
like it too. Kiwi fruit and Strawberries are particularly good.
-
Mash some of the fruit up on a plate with a
fork.
-
Mix in a little plain yoghurt or cream - just
a trickle.
-
Add a little runny honey - again just a very
little.
-
Mix all up and paint gently onto your skin with
a soft wide pastry brush or soft large paintbrush.
-
Lie down, relax and leave it for about five
minutes with thin pieces of cucumber covering your closed eyes.
Then wash gently off as before with a soft face flannel in lukewarm
water.
-
Pat your face dry. Again it is suppose to tingle
a little and you will look redder for a minute or two. Don't
panic it will fade to a gloriously smooth, soft finish.
